The LookAlike tool uses AI to analyse a list of your target companies and surface hundreds of similar prospects you may not have found otherwise. Follow the steps below to run your first LookAlike search.
Find new prospects that look just like your best existing customers
Steps to run a LookAlike search:
1. Go to List Builder in the top navigation bar.
2. Click on LookAlike in the top navigation bar.
4. Click, start new LookAlike. You can also review previous look alike lists built from the right hand side of the screen.
5. Upload a CSV file with the companies you want to model your results on. For example, if you want to find more companies selling activewear, please submit these similar companies in your CSV file. TAMI will run an AI analysis based on your company list and return a set of Lookalike Companies, ranked by similarity score.
Please provide between 5 and 100 records in your results. Click continue when file is uploaded.
6. Please make sure to format your file to CSV. Your column of websites that you submit, should have a column header like URL or Website so you can map as per below image. Please note, we only use websites to match off of, in the look alike search.
7. Choose the number of similar companies you wish for TAMI to return. (Maximum results is 1,000)
8. Optional - You can enter a AI command prompt to enhance your results.
9. TAMI will scan the sites you submit to find the most common keywords mentioned on the sites.
Optional - You can add your own custom keywords or remove any of the keywords found on the submitted websites.
10. Apply Industry and Country filters. You can also add any negative keywords to prevent certain products or services showing up in your results. Click view results.
11. Click "View Matches" next to any company to understand why it was matched to your list.
Once you are happy with the results, click "Add Companies to a List" to save them, or "Download Companies" to export them.
TAMI will automatically apply filters in the List Builder based on the LookAlike results. Review the filtered results and click "Save Search" to preserve the search for future use.
12. If you wish to apply further filtering, then run in list builder where you can apply the traditional TAMI filters on top of your look alike list.
🛠️ Tool Tip The LookAlike tool works best when your source list contains at least 20–30 well-defined companies. The more consistent your list (e.g. same industry, country or company size), the more accurate your results will be.
📝 Please note: The LookAlike search uses your existing list as a reference point. Adding or removing companies from your source list and re-running the search may return different results.
